Friends of Pleasant Bay
41st Annual Meeting
Join Us
Join Friends of Pleasant Bay for a signature summer gathering overlooking one of Cape Cod’s most treasured seascapes—Pleasant Bay!
The 41st Annual Meeting brings together members, supporters, educators, scientists, and community partners for an evening of connection, celebration, and shared commitment to the future of Pleasant Bay.
Set against the sweeping backdrop of Pleasant Bay, the evening will feature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, the annual business meeting, a special panel discussion exploring how Pleasant Bay serves as a living classroom for students of all ages, and the presentation of the Kathryn H. Manson Founder’s Award.
Featured Program
This year’s featured panel brings Friends of Pleasant Bay’s CARE mission to life — particularly our commitment to Education.
Across the region, educators and nonprofit leaders are using Pleasant Bay as a living laboratory, creative landscape, and gateway to environmental stewardship. Through sailing programs, coastal science curricula, photography, poetry, and experiential learning, students are developing deeper connections to the natural world and to this extraordinary estuary.
The discussion will explore how hands-on learning experiences on Pleasant Bay inspire curiosity, scientific understanding, creativity, and lifelong environmental responsibility.
Panel Discussion
This year’s Annual Meeting will feature a special panel discussion moderated by Peter Cohen, Principal of Nauset Regional Middle School and incoming Board President of Friends of Pleasant Bay.
The discussion will highlight the impact of Friends of Pleasant Bay’s Education Grants Program with four grant recipients representing a range of educational initiatives sharing how donor-supported funding has expanded opportunities for students, strengthened environmental education, and deepened connections to Pleasant Bay. Together, their stories will demonstrate the diversity, reach, and lasting value of this community-supported program.
