Donna Auciello

Donna Auciello has enjoyed summers on Cape Cod since early childhood and now makes Chatham her year-round home. A retired high school English teacher, she has long been drawn to the Cape’s waters and to organizations dedicated to marine education and stewardship.

Following her retirement, Donna became involved with Pleasant Bay Community Boating (PBCB), initially through sailing lessons at Jackknife Beach. Her involvement soon expanded to volunteer service on PBCB’s Marketing and Communications Committee and nine years on its Board of Directors, where she also served as secretary. During her tenure, Donna helped plan and organize educational and community programs, including Chatham’s Wooden Boat Day and a screening of A Plastic Ocean at the Chatham Orpheum Theater. She also helped bring Jo Ruxton, founder of the Plastic Oceans Foundation, to Cape Cod as the featured speaker at PBCB’s annual fundraising gala.

Donna also initiated the Marine Education Committee at Allen Harbor Yacht Club, where she served a three-year term on the Board of Directors. She looks forward to continuing her commitment to Pleasant Bay and its surrounding communities through her work with Friends of Pleasant Bay.
